Art as Resistance

Today, on April 17th Palestinian Prisoner Day, we share the words of Zakaria Zubeidi, Co-founder of The Freedom Theatre

Taken from Zakaria’s masters thesis, The Hunter & The Dragon, which he completed from prison, it explores his and other Palestinian experiences of fugitively and imprisonment.

Zakaria has been held by the Israeli army since 27th February 2019.

Since 2011, there have been at least 14 cases of members of The Freedom Theatre being detained by the Israeli army.

One Response to “Art as Resistance”

  1. Barbara, do you also post about other conflicts between other groups besides the Israelis and the Palestinians? It seems you have a particular focus on this one, based upon the posts of yours I recall.
