golden shovel after RS : how to be

… heard the other day of a poetry exercise to write a poem with the lines ending with a word each from another, called ‘golden shovel’ – so I thought I try this with a line from RS Thomeas’ The Bright Field:

whoever knew that

did nothing so I

could learn now I must

climb mountains to be myself – not give

while losing myself – all

is  to be held in love – I

am all I have
