Studying this died-in-the-wool philosopher, I picked up this concept of his I didn’t fully understand – a precept. But the other day as I was listening to Matt Sanford teaching one of his adaptive yoga classes, perhaps it came alive a bit for me as he said: Take the silence that surrounds you with you in your day.

I only know one person who does this, as I see her. And she may not even know.

Bernard Lonergan, 1904 – 1084

in his major work ‘Insight’ writes about transcendental precepts:

Be Attentive

Be Intelligent

Be Reasonable

Be Responsible

… leading to Being-in-Love
