My Bones

Pressed to justify

and rectify,

I nearly forgot:

My anchor is

the music of silence.

Some hear the Sea

when they press their ear to a shell –

I hear the silence

wafting, flowing,

gently gliding in –

like the Sea

shortly after low tide.

My anchor is the

silence between

the shell and the ear,

the Sea and the beach,

between seconds and

between my bones.
