Present Moment – Sept 2004

I still miss the Jesuit Retreat Centre, where I sometimes went for a week while living my solitary life in North Wales. During my last retreat there, an older nun from a missionary order said to me ” – …the Present Moment remains.”
We had been talking about young students of theology being wary of the intellectual enquiry into their faith, or rather wary of losing their childhood faith.
I did not get a chance to ask her how she continued to live in her Order, presumably with predominatly literal faith around her.
Yet the Moment we shared, remains for me, an example: The Echo that reverberates Presence – beholds any Moment remembered, if lived as fully present: My experience had led me to sense that reality is sacrament-shaped.
