My Heart sings Carmel – Mar 2010

(Spring 2010) … my heart lept with joy again, the other day when I was watching a film made by a non-religious film-maker, sympathetically, about a Carmelite convent somewhere in England. The silence, the serenity, the simple life with depth, the song and organ music spoke to me as they had 10, 20 years earlier.

As Sr. Wendy Beckett, the solitary who became famous presenting Art on TV, said: You don’t have to be religious to lead a life of prayer.
I had reached Mount Carmel, coming down from the mountains near Safed, where all became clear after a Jewish Sabbath meal:

Clear view over the land
nothing left
in the way of myths
